Dacheng and Dentons to Form the World’s Largest Law Firm

 Dacheng and Dentons announced their historic combination to form the world’s largest law firm.
Dentons, a leading global law firm, and ?? (in pinyin: Dacheng), the largest Chinese law firm, officially announced their historic combination on January 26, 2015. The new entity, “?? Dentons”, is the very first combination between a leading Chinese firm and a top 10 global firm. With more than 6,500 lawyers and professionals in 120 locations in more than 50 countries, it becomes the largest law firm in the world by lawyer head count.

The new firm will follow a Swiss verein structure, allowing partnerships to share a common name while remaining financially independent. In terms of governance, Dentons’ global chairman Joe Andrew and global chief executive Elliott Portnoy will continue in these positions, while Peng Xuefeng, Dacheng’s founding partner, will be chairman of the global board.
