After six years working together, the founding partners of the Brazilian firm Soares Bumachar Advogados have decided to part ways, as Eduardo Soares is set to become a partner of Lefosse Advogados, in its department of Projects and Infrastructure.
His career as a partner began in 1998, when he worked with Mattos Filho Advogados. In 2008, he moved to Mayer Brown LLP. He co-founded Soares Bumachar in October 2011. Concerning his education, he graduated in Law at Pontifical Catholic University of Sao Paulo in 1985 and speaks three languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish.
In a press release, Eduardo Soares and Laura Bumachar commented on how the firm will handle this period of transition: “We would like to stress that the cases under our care will continue to be executed by us in our new offices, respecting the conditions under which they were contracted with Soares Bumachar. We assure you that we will double our focus to serve the interests of our clients with all the care when delivering the works that are under our responsibility.”
As for Laura, the press release claims that she will continue to lead her team in matters of litigation, restructuring of companies and capital markets. “We take the opportunity to thank all of your clients for the faith put in Soares Bumachar throughout the last six years. It is an honor to have served to clients that strengthened us a lot and that allowed us to get here.”
