Clyde & Co Launches in Chicago and DC With 10 New Hires

London based global law firm, Clyde & Co hasopened offices in Chicago and Washington DC after making 10 new hires from Troutman Sanders.

London based global law firm, Clyde & Co hasopened offices in Chicago and Washington DC after making 10 new hires from Troutman Sanders.

The new partners come with a range of experience from trial to insurance and litigation work, the team is also bringing in Troutman’s managing partner from the Chicago office, Eileen Bower. Ms. Bower will lead the new Chicago office with litigation partner Clint Cameron who practices mass tort and pollution general liability coverage litigation.


Other partners joining the firm include, David Cutter and James Sanders who will be based in Chicaco and six partners who will be based in Washington –Jack Gerstein, David Gische, Leslie Ahari,Meredith Werner, Patrick Hofer and Gaby Richeimer.


According to a Clyde spokesperson, groups of associates and other staff members will follow the partners from Troutman, however the negotiation over those moves are ongoing.


Clyde & Co Head of Americas, James Burns explains that “The goal is to be the number one insurance law firm in the US –plain and simple,” he continues “The US is the world’s largest insurance market by some distance, so as an insurance-focused firm, it is strategically essential for us to have a significant presence.”


Clyde & Co operates as a single global partnership and focuses on five core sectors globally: insurance, infrastructure, trade and commodities, energy and transportation. The United States is a core market for many of its clients, which include many US and international insurance carriers.
